Who is the person behind the Registry?

About Me

My name is Marcus Stegeman born in the Netherlands in the year.....1990. When I was just a young child I was already interested in motorcycles, American motorcycles. Rumor has it that as a 6 year old boy I had already made a drawing of a silver Fat Boy.
After getting my motorcycle license, I started looking into making a dream come true; buying a Harley Davidson.
I set myself the goal of purchasing my real dream motorcycle before I graduated from college. After many years of working at my side job, the opportunity presented itself to make my goal a reality. A genuine 1990 FLSTF Grey Ghost came up for sale in the northern part of the Netherlands, 4 days before completing my education!
Good condition, low mileage, good price, honest engine but the Derby, Timer AND Dash cover were missing. The bike was missing 3 of the 7 rings but still I took the bike home. To this day I remember that first ride home! My second ride was to my graduation!

It took several years but luckily I have the bike complete and the 7 yellow rings are on it. My Grey Ghost is not 100% original and I don't mind that. I could build it back but I like the bike the way I have it now.
Over the years I have built up great memories with my Grey Ghost; my first date with my wife, going on vacation together, riding several Gentle man Rides (a charity event of which I was co-organizer for a number of years in Rotterdam) I have also been able to build up quite a collection over the years with all sorts of '90 Fat Boy memorabilia.

Why did I start the registry?
For quite some time I have been a member of many different Grey Ghost facebook fan pages where you can meet cool people from all over the world and see pictures of their bikes. Regularly the question is asked; how many will still be riding? A question I would like to know the answer to as well. In 2020 I started making a plan, in 2021 I started the website in 2022 it went live. All for the love of our 1990 Fat Boy.
